Natural Jade Glaze
Known worldwide amongst such precious stones as diamonds, rubies, and emeralds; jade is divided into nephrites and the more rare jadeites. The jadeites are mined mainly in Burma and Japan.
At Yashiroyama-gama, we have exclusively selected natural jadeite ores for the glaze for the products.

Creative Motivation
There was a color of celadon (qingci) porcelain during the Song dynasty, which had a humble blue-green glow called “jade-blue”. I had a long yearning to recreate this special “blue” and also an attraction for the “blue” of the p recious stone we know as jade, which is considered to be one of the most precious treasures of China.
The original qingci porcelain vessels were crafted by the masters of the Song dynasty and adored by the nobilities of the time. Their beauty has churned my inspiration to create a pure “jade glaze”. Thus was born the product of the highest qua lity Burma jadeite and of masterful ceramic craftsmanship – “Natural Jade Glazed Porcelain”. The Yashiroyama-gama Natural Jade Glazed Porcelain is my realization of an artistic conscience and repeated efforts of development.
The beauty of Natural Jade Glazed Porcelain is in the brilliance of the precious stone’s durability and the deep transparency of its “blue” born during the firing process. Each vessel emits its own pattern of “blue” – no two are the sa me. Alas, the most stringent quality control permits me to introduce only a few, out of hundreds of pieces made, into the world.
The Yashiroyama-gama exclusively produces Natural Jade Glazed Porcelain.
